The global market for renewable energy – especially wind energy – is expected to continue to grow in the coming years due to robust demand for green energy. Wind turbine and wind power equipment requires reliable corrosion protection. Heat-shrink tubes, that protect essential cable and connection systems, are an important component in wind turbine protection and the longevity of wind farm installations. Heat-shrink tubes are applied to electrical components and cables, which are then heated to conform to the contours of the application. This forms a waterproof shell around the equipment, which protects it against moisture and corrosion. Dust and other contaminants are prevented from reaching the components in the wind turbine, thus protecting them from abrasion.
