In smaller installation spaces and higher energy density, the heat produced by the vehicle also increases. The use of smaller engines – and more than one engine in many EVs– which produce lower emission rates and improvements in fuel economy, this trend also leads to the need for more high-temperature products in the automotive sector.

Those made of the thermoplastic polymer PTFE, including fluorolastomers, can withstand even higher temperatures of between 220°C (428°F) and 260°C (500°F).
